Ex-Mars Volta and At The Drive-In lynchpins Omar RodrĂguez-LĂłpez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala have formed a new supergroup with Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea.

Also featuring former Mars Volta drummer Dave Elitch on drums, the group is called Antemasque and new material will reportedly be announced via their Twitter page soon.

The band have posted two videos on YouTube giving fans an insight into their creative process and snippets of what the music will sound like. You can see them below:

When The Mars Volta dissolved in 2012, Omar RodrĂguez-LĂłpez went on to form Bosnian Rainbows who released their acclaimed self-titled debut album last summer.

The new band didn’t sit well with Bixler-Zavala who compared his then former bandmate to a cheating wife.

"Am I supposed to do be some progressive house wife that’s cool with watching their partner go f*** other bands?", he wrote on Twitter.

It would appear now however that the pair have set their differences aside.
