He's recovering after surgery
Van Halen had emergency surgery last week after being diagnosed with diverticulitis and he's recovering at home.
He posted on his Facebook page: "Thank you for all of your cool comments! Hanging out, taking it easy and following the doctor’s orders."
The surgery scuppered the band's Japan tour scheduled for the end of the year. It is the second year running that the band has had a tour outside North America cancelled.
