Eddie Van Halen Named Greatest Guitarist

Guitar World put together their first ever Greatest Guitarist poll earlier this year in a tournament style event that started with 132 guitarists who were matched against each other and eliminated gradually until the "final" was won by Van Halen when he "beat" Brian May.

In all, half a million votes were cast as Van Halen defeated the likes of Slash, Jake E Lee, Joe Satriani and Alex Lifeson before beating May.
