Duff McKagan Wins College Alumni Award
The bassist has been named Seattle Central Distinguished Alumni Of The Year.
Having previously dropped out of high school, Duff McKagan restarted his education in 1994 with a basic financial course, after reviewing the Guns N' Roses accounts and realising he wanted to understand more about finance.
He then went on to study at Seattle Central which allowed him to take a full time Business and Economics course at Seattle University in 2000.
2011 saw McKagan using all he had learned to found a wealth management firm for musicians called Meridian Rock, which he still heads alongside British investor Andy Bottomley.
Duff was unable to attend the ceremony due to tour commitments, but instead filmed his acceptance speech to share online.
