Duff McKagan Side Project Readies New Release
Loaded to release new album in March
Duff McKagan’s Loaded have signed a new record deal with Eagle Rock and will have a new album out in March.
The band will release their new album on their new label next spring and it will be the follow up to last year’s ‘Sick’ album.
McKagan will be reteaming with his Velvet Revolver bandmates later this year to try to end their long search for a new frontman. The band have been singerless since Scott Weiland left in 2008.
McKagan also reunited with Guns N Roses onstage for the first time in nearly 15 years a couple of weeks ago. He joined Axl Rose & co onstage to perform ‘You Could Be Mine’.
"I was there on separate business," McKagan says. "I had no idea Axl and Guns N' Roses were in London. So we're going up the elevator and someone said, 'You know, Axl is in the room next to us.' Axl and I just sort of met up . . . we saw each other and we hugged."
McKagan then went along to the show at the O2 Arena and ended up onstage.
"The show is going on and I'm watching it," he says. "And somebody comes over with a bass. Now, I haven't played 'You Could Be Mine' since 1993. I was, like, 'Oh, God. OK, I can play it. I think I remember it.'"
