As Download Festival’s 20th anniversary extravaganza gets underway, the stage times have been revealed.
Headlined by Metallica (Thursday and Saturday), Bring Me The Horizon (Friday) and Slipknot (Sunday), Download Festival has expanded to a four-day event for the first time in its fabled two-decade history.
Other bands on the bill across the four days include Ghost, Alter Bridge, Halestorm, Mammoth WVH, Skindred, Within Temptation, Evanescence, Placebo, Coheed & Cambria, Disturbed, Clutch and many, many more. Creeper are also a last-minute addition to The Dogtooth Stage.

Where is Download Festival?
Taking place from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th June, Download Festival returns to Donington Park, in Leicestershire, just south of Derby and Nottingham, and north of Leicester.
Formerly the home of Monsters of Rock until 1990, in 2003 Download Festival was launched at the race circuit, which also hosts a World Superbike round and British Touring Cars, amongst other high-octane pursuits.

Metallica: Download Festival 2004
Having made "secret" mid-afternoon appearance on the second stage with no soundcheck the previous year, the behemoth that is Metallica took its rightful place at the head of the table. Despite Lars Ulrich being rushed to hospital minutes beforehand, Metallica ploughed on with their set with Slayer's Dave Lombardo, Slipknot's Joey Jordison and their drum technician, Flemming Larsen, filling in for Lars.
