Download 2013 Tickets On Sale On Friday

A new deposit scheme is to be introduced

Published 11th Jun 2012

Next year's festival will take place on the weekend of 14-16 June 2013 and a limited number of tickets will go on sale later this week.

A new deposit scheme will also be introduced so that fans don't have to stump up the entire ticket price up front. Glastonbury Festival operates a similar scheme in which fans can pay a portion of the ticket price now to secure their ticket and then pay the balance closer to the festival.

In the official press conference yesterday, the festival Director John Probyn said that the weather had thrown up a few problems but that they had coped and would learn some lessons for the future.

"All of us who have worked on Download over the last ten years are very proud to have reached this milestone, and what a weekend it has been! God threw the kitchen sink at us this year and we dealt with it. Not everything was perfect for the 10th Anniversary, but we all got to enjoy it, and the show DID go on!”

He added, "We are aware of some of the specific issues some customers faced as a result of the bad weather and the effect this has on the festival site and we can assure customers that every effort was made to prepare the ground prior to the event. All options were considered to manage this situation, but unfortunately there was nothing that could be done to prevent the resulting ground conditions. We will use the events of 2012 to once again improve the site for years to come.”

You will be able to get the early bird tickets on Friday at 9am from www.downloadfestival.com
