Dio Tribute Album to be Released in April

Generally accepted as one of the greatest vocalists in rock history, Ronnie James Dio is to be commemorated with an all-star tribute album featuring Dio classics covered by the likes of Metallica, Motorhead, Anthrax and a whole host of rock and metal legends.

The album, entitled This Is Your Life includes 13 re-recordings of songs from throughout the late singer’s career, including Black Sabbath, Rainbow and Dio material. The final track, meanwhile,  is a “poignant” 1996 voice-and-piano version of the title track, sung by Ronnie himself.

James Hetfield says of Metallica’s involvement that "we're very honoured to be a part of that, and of a celebration of Ronnie's life and his great contribution."

Proceeds from sales will benefit the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund, created by the vocalist’s wife Wendy.

This Is Your Life will be released via Rhino Records on 1st of April.
