Dio Box Set /Memoirs On The Way
Wendy Dio sheds some light on a plethora of forthcoming releases
Following the news earlier in the week that a brand new double disc Dio At Donington 1983 and 1987 album will be released in early November, a little more information about forthcoming Dio releases has been revealed – and it looks like we can expect his memoirs, two box sets, some Elf reissues and an assortment of other goodies.
In an interview with Billboard.com, Ronnie’s wife Wendy revealed that she will be completing Ronnie’s memoirs, although he had almost finished it himself shortly before he died.
"I'm just going to finish the end parts of it," Wendy explains. "It's actually intended as a three-book deal — the memoirs of Ronnie, a book of illustrated lyrics, and a photo book."
Meanwhile Wendy also revealed that the Niji Entertainment Group – set up by Ronnie and her before his death – will reissue Holy Diver on heavyweight vinyl late in November at the same time as an album by Ronnie’s cousin David "Rock" Feinstein (who played in Elf and Dio). Ronnie appears on two tracks on the album.
Next year fans can also expect a 16-album vinyl-or-CD box set, For the Record: The Complete Dio Vinyl Collection along with The Complete Bootleg Box.
"There are a lot of performances from strange places," Wendy says of the Bootleg Box . "It will span over all the years that we have"
There will also be Elf reissues, a DVD version of classic VHS, Super Rock Japan 1985, and unreleased songs which Ronnie was working on for the albums Magica II and Magica III.
