Def Leppard's Rick Allen launches vegan-friendly luxury bag company
Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen has launched a new luxury bag company and unveiled his first unisex bag.
The new fashion company is a joint venture with Rick’s good friend, the luxury designer Lars Tetens, and goes by the name of BonSac.
The pair have just launched their first unisex shoulder handbag dubbed the Rick Allen Day Bag, which retails at Amazon for an eye-watering $979.99 (around £737).
According to a press release, Allen and Teten’s “partnership represents years of relentless collaboration in pursuit of an heirloom-quality classic-style bag that will endure the test of time, much like Rick Allen himself.”
In keeping with Rick’s vegan lifestyle, the bags are completely animal-free using a combination of materials such as Kevlar, soft industrial upholstery fabric and waxed cotton. BonSac proudly proclaims that the bag is ‘a truly wearable piece of art.’
Rick comments: “In my world of rock and roll, with so many artists choosing compassion over conventional fashion, style with conscience is the future.”
With the Rick Allen Day Bag on sale Stateside right now, a full collection of bags will be launched later in 2018.
Def Leppard are performing their seminal album ‘Hysteria’ in its entirety on tour this coming December, taking in the following shows:
