Def Leppard and Sammy Hagar to be honoured with stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Def Leppard and Sammy Hagar will both be honoured with stars on the world-famous Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Last night (26th June), the Hollywood Walk of Fame unveiled its Class of 2024 consisting of big names from the worlds of Motion Pictures, Television, Live Theatre/Live Performance, Radio, Recording, and Sports Entertainment.

Hundreds of nominations were on the shortlist, and these were whittled down by the Walk of Fame Selection Panel before being ratified by the Hollywood Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Def Leppard and former Van Halen vocalist Sammy Hagar are being honoured as part of the Recording category alongside Glen Ballard, Toni Braxton, Charles Fox, Brandy Norwood, Darius Rucker, Gwen Stefani, and Andre ‘Dr. Dre’ Young.

Ellen K, Chair of the Walk of Fame Selection Panel, said: “The Selection Committee which is made up of fellow Walk of Famers, carefully hand-picks a group of honourees each year that represent various genres of the entertainment world.

"The Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can't wait to see each honouree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood's history with the unveiling of their star on the world's most famous walkway!"

The dates are yet to be revealed for the induction ceremonies, and recipients have two years to schedule star ceremonies from the date of selection before they expire.

Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe tour:

After launching in Sheffield back in May, Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe’s co-headline tour returns to the UK this weekend at London's Wembley Stadium.

The tour also visits Lytham Festival, Dublin Marlay Park and Glasgow Green. Tickets are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets right now.

Mötley Crüe are also seemingly playing an ultra-intimate 450-capacity show in London on Friday night (30th June) as Dogs of War.
