Def Leppard are plotting 'big 2018 tour', possibly with Journey

Just two weeks after wrapping up their extensive North American jaunt with Poison and Tesla, Def Leppard are already plotting their next tour.

Guitarist Vivian Campbell guested on the Do You Know Jack? Radio Show stateside this week and was asked whether the Sheffield rockers are planning a tour with Journey.

The question was posed after Journey bassist Ross Valory let slip in an interview with The Advocate last month that they were talking to Def Leppard about hitting the road together.

Responding to the question, Vivian said: "I know that nothing is set in stone, but negotiations are going on, and one of the acts we're talking about touring with next year could possibly be Journey.

“But it's not the only thing that's in the works. But I know we are trying to put together a big tour for next year, yeah."

The two bands previously toured together in 2006 on the North American leg of the Yeah! Tour.

Meanwhile, Def Leppard are getting ready to release the 30th anniversary edition of their massive ‘Hysteria’ album on Friday 4th August via Universal Music.

The packages range from a single disc of the remastered album through to a Super Deluxe Edition costing £105 featuring 5 CDs, 2 DVDs, a tour poster and four booklets; Story Of, a Ross Halfin photo book, Discography and Hysteria Tour Program.

In addition, there’s a 3-CD deluxe version, a limited edition coloured double vinyl and a standard edition double black vinyl.

Planet Rock’s very own Joe Elliott says of the release: "We wanted to do something very special for our fans and give them the definitive version of the album, one that incorporates all of the memories and milestones that we caught on tape and some of the madness that we got up to on the road. We hope it means as much to you as it does to us."

Don’t forget you can hear Joe Elliott on Planet Rock on Saturdays from 6pm. There's also another chance to hear Joe's show every Tuesday from 9pm.
