Deep Purple Confirm First Show Of 2013
The band will be playing Wacken Open Air 2013 - hopefully in support of a new album
Purple will be headlining the German festival on the weekend of 1-3 August and they will be joined on the bill by acts such as Anthrax and Doro.
All being well, the band should have an album out by that point with the band currently in the midst of recording the follow-up to 2005's Rapture Of The Deep.
"We’re producing an album with Bob Ezrin, who’s done KISS, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper, and he also worked on the last Kansas album, when I was with Kansas,” guitarist Steve Morse told Glide magazine recently. "So he’s one of my favorite producers and that’s going to be our studio album. It’s probably going to be more of an extravaganza.”
