Deep Purple announce new studio album ‘Infinite’
Hard rock legends Deep Purple have confirmed their 20th studio album is called ‘Infinite’.
Their record label earMusic have just released a 30-second teaser video that confirms the album is coming in 2017 and also contains fleeting footage of the band in the studio.
Although there is no concrete release date, track-listing or artwork yet, we do already know that the album was recorded in Nashville with esteemed Canadian producer Bob Ezrin.
In a video message to their fans last month, bassist Roger Glover joked: “We haven’t got a title yet, we’re still arguing about that as we do with everything.”
Back in September, Ian Gillan told Antihero that once the record sees the light of day “we’ll be on the road for two years as we normally are.”
Ian also proclaimed he’s more than confident he can cope with the rigours of another two years on the road.
“No, I don’t find any stress touring,” he said. “In fact, I was going for a check-up the other day and I was telling my doctor that’s when I feel best, on the road.
“Actually singing every day and traveling it’s this crazy kind of thing because there’s a routine to it, although it changes every day. That’s a contradiction but you go on stage about the same time every night. We do five cities a week and played in 48 countries last year. It keeps you right on top of things.”
Deep Purple’s last studio album ‘Now What?!’ was released in April 2013.
