David Gilmour performs Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here' at pub open mic night
He surprised punters on Monday night
Pink Floyd legend David Gilmour stunned punters at a Hove pub last night (9th September) with a performance of ‘Wish You Were Here.’
David Gilmour’s youngest daughter, 22-year-old Romany, was performing during the Monday open mic night at Hove’s The Neptune Inn when her famous dad walked on stage with his guitar case.
"Oh my gosh, you're here. And you've brought your guitar," a seemingly surprised Romany told David. She then quipped: "You're going to come and upstage me? OK, great.”
Father and daughter then proceeded to perform Pink Floyd classic ‘Wish You Were Here?’ in front of the astonished audience.
Sharing an abbreviated clip of the performance, David wrote on social media: “Very much enjoyed crashing @GilmourRomany’s gig at the Neptune in Hove this evening after finishing tour rehearsals…”

Romany shares vocals on David’s version of the Montgolfier Brothers’ ‘Between Two Points’, which appears on his new solo album ‘Luck and Strange.’
‘Luck and Strange’ is currently sitting pretty at Number 1 on the midweek album chart and looks set to dethrone Oasis’ ‘Definitely Maybe.’
David Gilmour kicks off his six-date residency at Circo Massimo in Rome on 27th September before he plays a six-night stint at the Royal Albert Hall in October.
