David Bowie wins five posthumous Grammy Awards
David Bowie won five posthumous honours at The Grammy Awards in Los Angeles last night (12th February).
Despite only winning two awards in his legendary lifetime - Best Video, Short Form for ‘Jazzin' for Blue Jean’ in 1985 and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006 – David Bowie scooped five gongs at The Staples Center bash.
They were Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance for ‘Blackstar’ (the single) and Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for ‘Blackstar’ (the album). Additionally, it won Best Recording Package for its Jonathan Barnbrook created artwork.
Bowie’s son, film director Duncan Jones, took to social media to share a poignant pic of his teenage self carrying his dad along with the caption “So proud of you dad! Would hold you up forever. #grammys2017”

There were also two sizable gaffes at The Grammys with the in-house band playing Metallica’s ‘Master of Puppets’ as Megadeth accepted their Best Metal Performance honour and James Hetfield’s microphone being on mute during Metallica’s performance with Lady Gaga.
Visibly frustrated, Hetfield ended the performance by kicking his microphone stand over and throwing his guitar away.
