Dave Grohl would love to play drums for AC/DC
Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl says he’d jump at the chance of playing drums for AC/DC.
Last Thursday night (1st November), Dave guest performed with indie musician Beck at the Last Weekend Kick Off LA concert at The Palace Theatre in Los Angeles, which was held to inspire people to go out and vote in this week’s US midterm elections.
Speaking to Forbes after the show, Dave was asked who is the dream person and/or band he’d love to play drums for.
Without hesitation, he responded: “AC/DC. That's my last one, that's it.”
However, alluding to the photograph that emerged in August of Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd at Vancouver’s Warehouse Studios where Stevie and Angus Young were also spotted, Dave added: “Phil Rudd is back though.
“If you dive back into their back catalogue, that early s**t, there was a little bit more dynamic, then they settled into the groove. That's the thing. And it's because of Phil Rudd. It's AC/DC, but that guy holds the key.”

A highly close-guarded unit, AC/DC are yet to officially announce whether Phil Rudd and Brian Johnson are back in the fold - or indeed whether they are recording new material.
Brian Johnson, of course, was forced to bow out of the final two legs of AC/DC’s Rock or Bust World Tour in 2016 when doctors ordered him to quit touring or risk going deaf while Phil Rudd was replaced by Chris Slade in 2015 due to his ongoing legal troubles and subsequent house arrest.
An unconfirmed report from JAM Magazine in August claimed that AC/DC’s purported new album will be dedicated to the memory of Malcolm Young and it will feature his rhythm guitar playing.
JAM wrote: “Turns out, five years prior to the Black Ice LP, AC/DC’s 15th studio release, Angus and Malcolm Young lived to together where they literally wrote hundreds of songs, many were recorded and have been stashed away until now.
“Angus has decided to selected the best tracks from those recordings that Malcolm played on and is now back in the studio recording and mixing them with fellow band mates Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams and yes, Brian Johnson on vocals.”
