The band were due to play Rogers Place in Edmonton tonight (4th September) and Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary on Thursday (6th September) but these dates have now been pushed back until the end of October.

After successfully playing the opening show of the latest leg of their North American Concrete & Gold Tour at Seattle’s Safeco Field on Saturday, Dave Grohl suffered a loss of voice and is now on vocal rest.

Referencing U2 who were forced to abandon their Berlin gig on Saturday five songs in when Bono lost his voice, Dave Grohl joked: “That’s the last time I ever make out with Bono.”

Foo Fighters are scheduled to resume their tour in Vancouver on Saturday 8th September when Dave’s voice has had time to recover.

The band said in a statement: “Foo Fighters are, as always, grateful for understanding and support of their fans everywhere and look forward to seeing everyone in Edmonton and Calgary in October.”

The gig in Seattle saw Dave Grohl reunite on stage with his former Nirvana band mate Krist Novoselic.

The bassist joined Foo Fighters for a cover of The Vaseline’s ‘Molly’s Lips’, which Nirvana covered in 1991. The track later appeared on the rarities compilation album ‘Incesticide.’

Novolselic’s new band Giants In The Trees also supported Foo Fighters at Safeco Field and Novoselic joked on Twitter beforehand “It has been my lifelong dream to meet Dan Grohl and Paul Smear.”
