Dave Grohl finds letter from 14 yr-old self
The Foos frontman wrote to a local punk legend asking for help
When you're 14 and learning an instrument, you sometimes wonder how you'll ever possibly become a rockstar.
Thankfully for the rest of us mere mortals, rock god David Grohl had much the same concerns.
The former Nirvana drummer has posted a picture on the bands' Twitter of a letter he sent to underground punk legend Ian MacKaye of Fugazi / Minor Threat when he was just 14.
MacKaye was a major figure in the hardcore punk scene, and was part of the 'Sonic Highways' documentary as a key influence on the band as they were growing up.
In the letter, Grohl asks MacKaye if he could get some numbers of anyone who could help his career.
The snippet of the letter posted reads:
"...good thrash so I was wondering if you could give me some numbers or people to get in touch with.
It would help. Thankx
