Daltrey Will Go On Without The Who
Frontman to continue if band forced to call it a day
Roger Daltrey has revealed that he plans to continue touring even if The Who split due to Pete Townshend’s tinnitus.
Nightwatchers House Of Rock reports that the Who’s frontman plans to go on as a solo artist if Townshend is forced to retire due to an ongoing problem with his ears. (Townshend recently revealed that he has been suffering from severe tinnitus and that if the band’s one-off show at the Royal Albert Hall tomorrow night goes badly then The Who will be finished).
Daltrey revealed: "Would I carry on? Of course I would. I mean, I don't want to stop singing. I just can't keep going on trying to keep singing like I did 40 years ago. I'm realistic about where I am in my life now."
Despite this, Roger admits he will have to give up performing eventually.
He added: "Pete and I are agreed on this - we don't see any time that we're going to stop, but we are realistic that one day it will retire us. We'll just no longer be able to do it."
