Daltrey Wants To Work With Page
Who man wants to record album with Zep guitarist
The Who’s Roger Daltrey has revealed that he wants to record an album with Jimmy Page.
Speaking to the BBC, Daltrey says that he wants to record a blues album with the former Zeppelin guitarist.
"I’d love to do something, I’d love to do an album with Jimmy Page,” he told the BBC. "He needs a singer to drive him. I’m a great blues singer.
"I don’t sing the blues with The Who, but that’s what I used to be before Townshend started writing. I used to be a great blues singer.”
The frontman was speaking ahead of his Teenage Cancer Trust gigs at the Albert Hall, which take place next month.
As well as a performance by The Who, which will see them tackle Quadrophenia in its entirety, the TCT gigs include two shows by former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, a show by Them Crooked Vultures and gigs by Suede, Arctic Monkeys, JLS and The Specials as well as a comedy night.
