Curious Pink Floyd Story To Make It To The Big Screen

Interesting footnote in rock history to become a movie

A new Pink Floyd related movie is apparently in the works which will tell the story of the children that sang on the band’s ‘Another Brick In The Wall Pt.2.’

Rolling Stone Magazine reports that the curious footnote in rock history will make it to the big screen with a story about the unorthodox teaching methods of Alun Renshaw and the children that sang on one of the most iconic rock records of all time.

Andy Harries, a producer of Helen Mirren film The Queen, is working on a film about the life story of music teacher Alun Renshaw — whose unorthodox methods included smoking in class and swearing at students. Harries describes the film as "Dead Poets Society meets School of Rock."

Renshaw left the school and moved to Australia not long after The Wall was released. Harries told Deadline that he has not yet procured the rights to the song, so filming and release details were not available at press time.

Roger Waters is currently touring The Wall around North America and is due to bring the show over to the UK in May for a series of dates in Manchester and London
