Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has emerged as a frontrunner to replace Scott Weiland as the frontman of Velvet Revolver after he cryptically refused to confirm or deny that he was a possibility.

Taylor is one of the "known singers" that jammed with the rest of Velvet Revolver when they started auditioning new frontmen, and when Billboard.com asked him about the situation he simply laughed and said "To be continued!".

The other "known singers" that VR are thought to have auditioned include Scars On Broadway singer Frankie Perez and Spacehog frontman Royston Langdon.

Taylor was speaking to Billboard about his other bands, Stone Sour (who are currently on tour) and Slipknot (who return to live action to headline Sonisphere in the UK in July), as well as about his forthcoming book The Seven Deadly Sins: Settling the Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Good, which is released in July.

About the book, Taylor revealed "It's about me basically saying they're not sins. They're things we're born with, things that we deal with and things that in the long run help us to be better people.

"So it's me kind of taking the piss out of the whole sin thing, but also balancing it with stories from growing up, from being on the road and how I handled these 'deadly sins' and hopefully came out on the other side as a better person."
