Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has cancelled two festival performances as he’s “very sick” with an unspecified illness.

The 50-year-old rocker took to social media yesterday (Wednesday 12th June) to announce that his show at Rock For People festival in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic later that evening wouldn’t be going ahead.

"To my friends and family in the Czech Republic - I am sorry to say that I woke up very sick today and as a result of this I will not be able to perform at Rock For People festival,” Taylor wrote.

“The health and safety of my band and crew is always our first priority on the road and I do not want to cause further issues by trying to perform today.

“I am truly sorry to everyone who was looking forward to this performance at Rock For People and I promise I will return and make it up to you."

This morning (Thursday 13th June), Taylor has issued a new statement confirming that his gig tonight at Nova Rock Festival has also been axed.

“To my friends in Austria – Due to ongoing sickness, I will be cancelling my performance at Nova Rock Festival,” his statement said.

“I am deeply sorry to have to cancel another performance, but my priority remains keeping our band and crew healthy while doing everything I can to rest and heal.

“I hope to see my Austrian friends again very soon when I can give them the performance they deserve.”

Corey Taylor’s next scheduled show is on the Opus Stage at his beloved Download Festival on Sunday night (16th June).

Taylor released his second solo album 'CMF2' last December and he embarked on a headline UK tour before its release.

Everyone at Planet Rock wishes Corey well with his recovery.
