"Cobain Musical Will Never Happen"

Courtney Love squashes rumours of Broadway show

Published 5th Nov 2012

Last month, Sam Lufti let slip in a coutroom that he was co-managing Courtney Love and working on a possible musical project with her, charting her relationship with the late Kurt Cobain.

Music-News reported that the pair were considering making a "motion picture or Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalogue", rumours which have now been scotched by Love Herself.

In a recent interview with The Observer Cobain's widow stated that the project would never happen. "There will be no musical...Sometimes it's best to just leave things alone" the singer and actress stated.

The reports have coincided with news of a new CBS sitcom entitled "Smells Like Teen Spirit", and have caused fans, and Courtney, to question whether the commercialisation of her late husband's legacy is getting out of hand.
