Classic CSNY Show To Be Released

Graham Nash working on 1974 tour album

Graham Nash has revealed that he’s currently in the midst of working on a Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young live album which was recorded in 1974.

Speaking to Billboard the former Hollies man revealed that the usually exacting Neil Young had let him loose on the tapes from their legendary 1974 tour.

"He knows me. He trusts me. He feels I can do this. He will be very involved, of course, because I'm not mixing anything finally until Neil's heard it and approves -- the same with David Crosby and Stephen."

Nash also revealed that the tapes sound pretty amazing, saying "we were really a fine band. It's very obvious when you play the tracks that we're listening to each other, not stepping on each other's toes, not overblowing. It's really, really good."

As well as the brand new live album, which should be with us in spring next year, Nash will be reconvening with messrs Crosby and Stills to finish off their long, long, long gestating covers album – which was originally revealed in early 2009.

"It's a lot slower than it's ever taken us to do an album," Nash tells Billboard.com, "because we've been on the road since May, and we don't quit until October. "We all want it to be right – Rick Rubin – producer, too -- so we're taking our time to make sure it is."

And following that 2011 should also see the release of another CSNY live album, recorded at the Fillmore East 1970, a Crosby Nash live album containing material from 1970 and 1993 and he’s also hopeful that he and David Crosby will be able to pull together their famous friends for a charity album that will benefit the Children’s Defense Fund.
