Clapton Enlists Beck, Winwood, Allmans For Chicago Fest
Amazing line-up for charity bash
Eric Clapton has signed up The Allman Brothers Band, Jeff Beck, Steve Winwood, BB King, Joe Bonamassa and ZZ Top for his third Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago.
Billboard reports that the legendary guitarist has called in a little help from his friends for the fairly infrequent charity event which will take place this year on 26 June at the Toyota Park in Chicago.
Clapton has managed to persuade a plethora of the world’s best guitar talent to sign up for the event which will once again benefit the Crossroads Center in Antigua, an addiction treatment and education facility founded by Clapton in 1998.
Jeff Beck, who played at the 2007 festival, tells Billboard.com that "it was as much fun to sit back and listen to everyone else play as it was to play myself. It really was a great day.”
