Chas & Dave pull out of Ramblin' Man Fair, replacement act announced
Chas & Dave have been forced to pull out of Ramblin’ Man Fair due to illness.
The cockney duo were set to play the Blues Stage on Sunday afternoon, however Chas is still suffering from the after effects of flu and doctors have advised him to rest up.
They said in a statement: “It's with regret that Chas & Dave won't be able to appear at Ramblin' Man Fair this weekend.
“As most of you know, Chas is slowly recovering from the knock-on effects of a particularly nasty bout of flu but sadly won't be fit by the weekend and his doctors have advised extra rest.
“Chas and Dave would like to send their regards to their fans and all who were looking forward to seeing them at Ramblin' Man - they themselves were very much looking forward to playing at such a great festival and hope to have another opportunity to play there in the future.”
In Chas & Dave’s place, Ramblin’ Man Fair organisers have added Big Boy Bloater to the bill who will take their 5.30pm slot.
Big Boy Bloater said: “I'm absolutely thrilled and honoured to be invited back to RMF to step in for Chas and Dave on the Blues Stage on Sunday. It's without doubt one of my favourite festivals on the circuit and last year's gig there was one of my highlights of 2017.
“I'm very sorry that Chas and Dave are unable to appear, not just because of the news of illness but because I was personally very excited to watch them and introduce them in my capacity as MC. But the band and I send all best wishes for a speedy recovery. We'll do our best to entertain the audience in our own way!”
Headlined by Mott The Hoople and The Cult and boasting performances from the likes of Halestorm, Steel Panther, The Cadillac Three, Blackberry Smoke, Sons of Apollo, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, Myles Kennedy, Gov’t Mule and Fish, Ramblin’ Man Fair takes place at Mote Park in Kent tomorrow (30th June) and Sunday (1st July)
