Charlie Watts Admits Stones Need to Keep Tours Short These Days

Legendary drummer Charlie Watts has admitted that The Rolling Stones have decided to play shorter tours because of their “tender age”. The Stones are currently set to start their ‘14 On Fire’ Tour in Abu Dhabi on the 21st of February followed by dates in Japan, China, Australia and ending in New Zealand on the 5th of April.

Despite admitting “If we don't do any more I'll be quite happy with that”, Charlie was especially emphatic about The Stones’ shows at Glastonbury and Hyde Park last summer. The Stones sticksman, possibly more comfortable at his farm in Devon, was publically reserved about playing open air shows and festivals. He admits now he enjoyed it; "that was wonderful," he says, "although you should have been there when I didn't like the idea of doing Glastonbury in all the mud and everything. We had three weekends in England in July where we had fantastic weather and the crowds were great and I had a really good time in both places. I've got to learn to shut up about things. That's typical of me."
 
Of his input to The Stones Watts says "I'm usually mumbling in the background, which is my forte. That's what I did when it was suggested we play Glastonbury. The thing is, nobody takes any notice of what I say anyway”.

Meanwhile Mick Jagger, a well-known cricket fanatic has offered his services to the struggling English cricket team. Jagger took to Twitter to offer himself as a prospective coach for the team after the recent dismissal of star player Kevin Pietersen.
