The new production will focus on the late icon’s entire career and will feature musicians who worked closely with David Bowie over the decades and other esteemed musicians greatly influenced by him.

Keyboardist Mike Garson, who collaborated with Bowie for longer than any other player, will be heading up the band along with previous Bowie band leaders, guitarist/vocalist Adrian Belew (Sound & Vision Tour) and guitarist Gerry Leonard (A Reality Tour).

Also performing on the tour are Bowie’s Let’s Dance/Serious Moonlight Tour bassist Carmine Rojas, Fishbone’s Angelo Moore, Gaby Moreno as well as special guests and other former Bowie band members who will make surprise appearances along the way.

Celebrating David Bowie creator and producer Angelo Bundini - aka guitarist Scrote – enthuses: “After the last tour, I didn’t really imagine playing more shows because it was insanely difficult to pull off.

“David’s last tour was in 2004, so I began to wonder what he might do if he were to tour again today. That’s what we’re presenting in 2018.”

Commenting on the vast ensemble of musicians needed for the tour, Mike Garson said: “I have worked with over 1000 singers but never anyone like David.

“He had an infinite source of music flowing through him, and his creativity was boundless. His sharing of the stage with his musicians was extraordinary, and he was a team player. That is why we need many singers to encompass his work.”

Special guests on the 2017 Celebrating David Bowie shows included Planet Rock’s very own Joe Elliott, Corey Taylor, Ian Astbury, Sting, Gary Oldman, Living Colour, Gavin Rossdale and Ewan McGregor.

Kicking off in Paris on the second anniversary of David Bowie’s death, the 2018 tour will take in two UK shows at London O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Friday 12th January and Manchester O2 Ritz on Saturday 13th January.

Tickets to these dates go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 10am on Friday 29th September.

Following the UK shows, Celebrating David Bowie takes in European dates in Dublin, Amsterdam and Utrecht before taking in an extensive run of US shows in February and March.
