The Queen honours Roxy Music frontman

Ferry was named amongst the recipients on the Queen's Birthday Honours List on Friday.

In a note on his official website he said "I would like to thank those who have given me the award, and all the musicians and others behind the scenes who have helped me throughout my career."

Other performers who have received this award include Eric Clapton, Roger Daltrey, Ray Davies, Dave Gilmour, Brian May, Robert Plant, Rod Stewart and Sting.

Also on the receiving end of an Royal honour this weekend was Yes/Buggles member and producer Trevor Horn
