Bruce Springsteen New Album Rumours Untrue
A fake press release circulated over the weekend
Over the weekend a few websites picked up on a press release that looked pretty official, which said that The Boss was going to release a brand new solo studio album in November.
See if you can spot the giveaway errors from the press release:
Bruce Springsteen's 'Arcade At Night' Set For November 8 Release On Columbia Records
Bruce Springsteen's new album 'Arcade At Night' has been set for November 8 release on Columbia Records. 'Arcade At Night' was recorded with current and former members of the E Street Band including Steven Van Zandt, David Sancious and Roy Bittan. 'Arcade At Night' features twelve new Springsteen compositions plus one bonus track written in memory of Saxophonist, Clarence Clemons, who was lost from complications of a stroke in June 2010. It is the first collaboration between Springsteen and Ron Aniello, who produced and mixed the album.
'Arcade At Night' Song Titles:
- Beneath The Floodgate
- Arcade At Night
- Stuck
- Times Two
- Turned Away
- You'll Never Know
- Figure It Out
- Lost Soldiers
- Caravan
- Dead Of Night
- Out Of Tune
- Wake Me Up
Bonus track:
Bigger Than Life
'Arcade At Night' is Bruce Springsteen's twenty-fifth album and was recorded and mixed at Thrill Hill Recording* in Colts Neck, NJ with additional recording in New York City and Los Angeles.
Aside from the song titles, which are suspicious to say the least, the release has the date of Clarence Clemons' death wrong - which a real press release surely wouldn't do
It has now been confirmed by the website that originally posted the release that it is indeed a fake.
In other Springsteen news, though, Bruce did turn up to play at Sting's 60th birthday party at the Beacon Theater in New York.
The star studded concert (Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel and Lady Gaga were amongst the performers) saw Sting perform tracks from across his career with some of his famous friends.
Bruce and Sting took on 'Can't Stand Losing You', and you can see a fan filmed video of the performance below:
