Queen's Brian May to host live lockdown launch party with Kings Daughters
It's happening this weekend
Queen legend Brian May will host a live lockdown launch party with Kings Daughters this weekend.
Last month, Brian joined forces with rising pop rock band, Kings Daughters, to record a new song imbued with positivity, hope and solidarity called ‘Get Up’.
Produced and co-written by Brian May, 'Get Up' is released in collaboration with the UK’s leading mental health charity, MIND, and is a welcome tonic for these turbulent times.
The launch party for ‘Get Up’ will be streamed live on Brian May’s Instagram account at 8pm on Sunday evening (26th April). There will also be a live Q&A with Brian and Kings Daughters’ Talia, Izzy and Vicky.
Brian May and Kings Daughters comment: "Kids and adults of all ages, from all walks of life, will feel the force of optimism and gratitude in this record when they sing and dance along to ‘Get Up’ at our virtual launch party from isolation wherever they may be.
“Our virtual launch party will unite the world in hope for a better future.”

Brian says of ‘Get Up’: “We’re launching this to the world not only as a kind of dance craze, but also a powerful tonic for people who really ARE paralysed with fear, depression or anxiety right now. Being a depressive myself, I definitely relate!!
“I think kids and adults of all ages will feel the force of optimism and gratitude in this record when they sing and dance along to “Get Up” from isolation where ever they may be. The song will unite the world in hope for a better future.”
Kings Daughters add: “We are still putting everything into this project because music for the soul is more important than ever right now. With our different personalities, expertise and experiences we have created something that is more and more rare to see today, A REAL BAND.
“A band fuelled by emotion, a vision, with a passion, with a force and with a sound! And we have produced a song that we hope will make the world feel better in this strange and uncertain time we find ourselves in.”
