Brian Johnson lends support to AC/DC fan club gig raising money for dementia
AC/DC legend Brian Johnson has recorded a message of support for a charity show organised by the Swedish AC/DC fan club.
The annual Acdcmachine Gathering event takes place in Stockholm on Friday 17th March with all proceeds going to Alzheimer's/dementia research in honour of Malcolm Young.
In his message, Brian, who also raises money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s’ Association through the Highway To Help campaign, said he’s proud of the Acdcmachine Gathering charity show and knows Malcolm “would be so proud of you” too.
"Hi to Johan (Kreku) and all the Swedish members of the Swedish AC/DC fan club. I’m Brian Johnson and I just wanna say I'm so proud of what you're doing for the Alzheimer's dementia research,” Brian says.
"As you know, we have a wounded soldier, Malcolm, and I think what you're doing to raise the awareness of everyone about this dreadful disease is just absolutely fabulous. I know Malcolm would be so proud of you. I am and I want to thank you for doing this.
"As you know, on my race car, we have Highway To Help’ (emblazoned on it), which is exactly the same thing; we're trying to tell people about this awful disease and trying to get a cure for it. You guys are helping, and I'm so proud of you. Thank you, and I wish you so much success. Bye."

Malcolm Young took a leave of absence from AC/DC in April 2014 to receive treatment for dementia and five months later the band’s management confirmed he was retiring permanently. His nephew Stevie Young replaced him in the band.
Brian himself exited AC/DC last year when doctors told him to quit touring or risk going deaf.
