Bono Makes $1 Billion From Facebook

His investment firm have more than quadrupled their money in two years

In 2009 Bono's firm Elevation Partners invested a not insignificant $210 million in the social networking site, and it seems that this was a particularly shrewd piece of business after the latest valuation of Facebook places it at $65 billion - more than four times what it was two years ago.

What that means when all of the sums have been done is that Bono's $210 million is now a staggering $975 million.

He can throw his portion of that near $1bn onto his share of the sizeable profit that his day job has yielded in the past two years.

Earlier this year Forbes named U2 as one of the world's highest paid musicians, having taken $736m - and profits of around $195m - from record sales and concert receipts over the last two years.
