Bon Jovi Ditches Manager
Frontman cites a difference in direction as the reason
Jon Bon Jovi has fired his manager after the frontman decided recently that they were heading in "different directions”.
Initial reports about the sacking suggested that manager Jack Rovner had made several errors during the band’s recent promotional tour. According to various gossip sites the first error was when $1,000 VIP tickets were sold that included a meet-and-greet with the band, however fans complained that after shelling out the dough, they were never granted access to meet the band.
Rovner was also reportedly responsible for booking Bon Jovi as an "artist in residence” for TV channel NBC, meaning that they couldn’t promote their album on other stations.
And the icing on this particular cake was that Rovner was also apparently responsible for signing the band up to make the documentary When We Were Beautiful, in which the rest of the band reveal that they are paid employees and that Jon Bon Jovi is in charge.
Bon Jovi moved to quickly rebuke the rumours, though, and it seems that the truth is possibly a little more mundane.
In a letter to the New York Post JBJ issued a statement saying
"Though I personally live for and love Page Six, I'm sorry to say that the tidbit you have received regarding the split between Vector Management and Bon Jovi is inaccurate. The boring truth is we decided to go in different directions and thanked both Jack and his team for a great job. He is and will remain a close friend and someone who I will be very grateful to for his dedication."
