A statement issued on his official website says that Bob has been ordered to attend “an urgent medical issue concerning his vertebrae.” No further details are available at this time.

Bob commented: “I’m so disappointed to have to suspend the tour as the band is on a great roll.  It’s a privilege to play for our amazing fans. Hoping to be back out on the road very soon.”

The septuagenarian rocker had successfully played 13 dates of his North American tour before postponing his 14th show in Columbus last Saturday night (30th September).

Bob has told fans that the rescheduled dates will be announced in due course and all original tickets will be honoured at the new shows.

The autumn shows preceded the release of Bob’s eighteenth studio album ‘I Knew You When’, which lands on Friday 17th November.

Everyone at Planet Rock wishes Bob a speedy recovery.
