Blue Oyster Cult's Eric Bloom Bemoans Hall Of Fame Omissions

The singer says he\'s puzzled by the bands not included

In an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock Bloom revealed that he isn't surprised that his own band are not in the Hall Of Fame, because there are so many other bands that have been omitted that are in front of them.

"I don't know their rules or criteria," Bloom told Ultimate Classic Rock, "but there are so many people that deserve to be in there that aren't. And there are a lot of people who aren’t rock 'n rollers who are in there. The organizers have varied ideas about who should be in there. I just don't understand it."

"Should Joan Jett be in there? Absolutely," said Bloom. "Alice Cooper just got in there, 10 years after he should have been. He's been a tutor to tens of thousands of thousands of musicians."

This year's nominees include Guns N Roses, Joan Jett, the Faces and Heart but there is once again an uproar about the number of great bands that haven't been included (that includes Rush, Deep Purple, Judas Priest and about two dozen other worthy recipients of a nomination).
