Blue Öyster Cult will play a full headline set and close the afternoon’s festivities at Indigo at The O2 on a bill that will also boast The Answer, Gun and Steve n’ Seagulls.

“We’re thrilled to be returning to London for a headline set as part of Stone Free at the O2 Indigo on June 17th as we celebrate 45 years of being ON TOUR FOREVER,” enthuse Blue Öyster Cult.

Over at The O2 Arena, glam rock legends Sweet have been confirmed as the blockbuster support for headliners Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow.

Sweet say: “It has been 40 years since Sweet played shows together with Rainbow in the USA. We therefore look forward to reconnecting where we left off. Both bands have gone through changes but with guitarists Ritchie Blackmore and Andy Scott still performing on stage the legacy remains intact.

“Most importantly the music especially the hits are still very much part of rock history today.”

The line-up has also been announced for the Big Entrance Stage, which will feature Evil Blizzard, Buck & Evans, Massive, Massive Wagons and Death Valley Knights.

Providing the laughs at the Speak Easy Lounge are Phil Nichol, Rich Wilson and a special live recording of Stuart Goldsmith’s Comedians’ Comedian podcast.

Other attractions include the outdoor Beer Garden, the Classic Rock Vinyl Fair where you’ll be able to browse through and buy vinyl from Prog Rock, Punk Rock and Hard Rock to Glam Rock, Classic Rock and 60s rock.

Taking place on Saturday 17th June, tickets to Stone Free Festival are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.
