Bloodstock announces final Ronnie James Dio Stage and Sophie Lancaster Stage bands

Bloodstock has announced the final 14 bands set to perform on the Ronnie James Dio Stage and the Sophie Lancaster Stage this summer.

Completing Friday’s Ronnie James Dio Stage line-up are Witchsorrow, Wytch Hazel and Hate. Royal Republic and Employed To Servce play the main stage on the Saturday, while Tribulation have been added on the Sunday.

The final wave of Sophie Lancaster Stage bands on the Friday are Candlemass (who replace Whitechapel), Bloodyard, Wolfbastard, Black Coast, Russkaja, Gaera amd Striker. The last act confirmed for the Saturday is Skin Failure.

Alongside the final music additions, Bloodstock organisers have confirmed that Vikings will be heading to Catton Park.

Explaining more, they write: ‘Warriors from across the country will converge on the hallowed fields of Catton Hall to compete in full contact 1v1 and team battles to be crowned the champions of Bloodstock. The sound of steel clashing and the splintering of shields will echo through the air as these warriors compete in battles and displays across the weekend in a special arena.

‘This is not re-enactment as you know it! It is not staged or choreographed! These warriors fight in fully authentic armour using real (albeit blunted) weapons in full contact competition. Combat is fought with a wide range of dark age weaponry, from sword and shield, to spears, and axes including the terrifying Dane axe…’

Headlined by Killswitch Engage, Meshuggah and Megadeth, Bloodstock takes place at Catton Park in Derbyshire from Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th August 2023.

Other acts on the weekend bill include Helloween, In Flames, Devildriver, Biohazard, Sacred Reich, Heaven Shall Burn, Sepultura, Fit For An Autopsy, Crowbar, Seething Akira, Ugly Kid Joe, Decapitated, Gatecreeper, Zeal & Ardor, King 810, Unto Others, Urne, All Hail The Yeti, Dead Label, Nonpoint, Church Of The Cosmic Skull, Brothers Of Metal, Gutalax, Uuhai, Invisions, Cobra The Impaler, Trollfest, Skynd, Warkings, Frozen Soul, The Violent Inzident, Tribe Of Ghosts, Dakesis, The Enigma Division, The Grey, Eyes, Tuskar, Stengah, Overthrone, Tortured Demon, Casket Feeder and Zetra.
