Bloodstock joins forces with 12 European metal festivals for special streaming event
This will be very good indeed
Last updated 17th Jun 2020
Bloodstock Open Air has united with 12 European independent metal festivals for a very special live streaming event taking place this August.
The European Metal Festival Alliance is a joint venture between Bloodstock and the following metal events in Europe, which have also affected by the coronavirus crisis:
Alcatraz (Belgium), Art Mania (Romania), Brutal Assault (Czech Republic), Dynamo (Netherlands), Into The Grave (Netherlands), Leyendas De Rock (Spain), Metal Days (Slovenia), Midgardsblot (Norway), Motorcultor (France), Party.San (Germany), Resurrection (Spain), and Summer Breeze (Germany).
On the weekend of Friday 7th to Sunday 9th August - when the cancelled Bloodstock 2020 was due to take place - The European Metal Festival Alliance will be hosting a unique online streaming event at MetalFestivalAlliance.com.
Raising money for the independent music festival sector, which, financially, has been hard hit by current global events, The European Metal Festival Alliance fundraiser will cost €6.66 (less than £6) to watch online.
For their hard-earned cash, fans will get three full days’ worth of exclusive live performances from more than 35 metal bands chosen by each festival, plus a variety of other content, including exclusive new interviews.
Those who purchase virtual tickets will also get a discount on a special European Metal Festival Alliance ‘Rebooting for 2021’ T-shirt.
The full line-up will be announced at a later date, and tickets will be available to purchase from Friday 10th July at MetalFestivalAlliance.com.
Ahead of the event, the official website will also feature archive footage from previous events, including many sets not previously broadcast.
Bloodstock 2021
Bloodstock will return with an extra day next year from Wednesday 11th to Sunday 15th August 2021.
Many of the artists on bill for this year have agreed to perform again in 2021, including Judas Priest, Devin Townsend, Saxon, Skindred, Bury Tomorrow and Paradise Lost.
Testament to the dedication of the metal community, more than 90% of ticketholders have rolled their tickets over to 2021. The remaining tickets are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets right now.
