In a short statement, the Thin Lizzy offshoots confirmed that the decision was mutual and they will be announcing a replacement drummer soon.

They wrote: “In a mutual decision, Black Star Riders and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso have decided to part ways. The band wish him well in his future endeavours and thank him for the great albums, killer shows and good times together. The new drummer will be announced shortly.”

Black Star Riders kick of their European tour in Dusseldorf on 24th May and return to the UK to play the Planet Rock Main Stage at Ramblin’ Man Fair on Saturday 29th July.

Also featuring ZZ Top, Extreme, UFO, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Dokken, Saxon, Kansas, Magnum, Rival Sons, Monster Truck and many more, tickets to Ramblin’ Man Fair are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.

Black Star Riders stormed in at No.6 on the UK album chart with their third long-player ‘Heavy Fire’ back in February. The album also picked up the listener-voted Best British Album award in The Rocks 2017, placing them alongside fellow winners Metallica, Iron Maiden and Joe Bonamassa.
