Taking place at Birmingham’s Opus Restaurant on Friday 20th April 2018, Tony will regale guests with stories of his legendary life and career with Black Sabbath as part of a Q&A.

The 70-year-old heavy metal pioneer is Patron of Ward 19, the dedicated cancer ward at Heartlands Hospital, and is giving his full support to the charity’s campaign to raise £150,000 for an extension to cancer services at Solihull Hospital.

According to a statement on the hospital’s website, ‘this unit will increase the amount of cancer patients who can be treated by 170%, reducing waiting times, reducing stress and creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere for patients.’

Tony’s close friend and band mate Geoff Nicholls died aged 68 in January 2017 following a lengthy battle with lung cancer.

Calling Geoff “one of my dearest and closest friends”, Tony said at the time: “Geoff and I have always been very close and he has been a real true friend to me and supported me all the way for nearly 40 years. I will miss him dearly and he will live in my heart until we meet again."

Tony himself was diagnosed with lymphoma in early 2012 and following gruelling chemotherapy and follow-up treatment he announced he was in remission in August 2016.
