Black Sabbath have revealed their plans to record one final album and embark on a swansong tour.

Frontman Ozzy Osbourne says the band are already plotting a follow-up to June 2013’s critically acclaimed, chart-topping ‘13’ and are hoping to join forces with Rick Rubin once again.

“We’re going to do one more album, and a final tour,” Ozzy told Metal Hammer. “Once the dust settled after the last tour we started discussing the idea, because we were getting asked about it all the time.”

“It’ll be sooner rather than later,” Ozzy responded when asked about a tentative release date. “Obviously a lot of it is coming down to Tony’s health, he’s obviously got his cancer treatment, but we’ll get onto it next year.

"I don't know if we'll be writing in England or L.A., but I'll fly to the f***ing moon for it if I have to."

Black Sabbath’s epic reunion tour kicked off in Birmingham in May 2012 and 83 shows and six continents later wrapped up at London’s Hyde Park this July.

One of the most important and influential metal bands of all time, Black Sabbath have sold over 70million albums since their inception in Birmingham in 1968.
