Black Sabbath and Slipknot announce Ozzfest Meets Knotfest
Megadeth, Opeth, Black Label Society and Anthrax are also on the Californian festival's line-up.
Black Sabbath and Slipknot are joining forces for a brand new American rock festival.
Ozzfest Meets Knotfest takes place on the weekend of 24th and 25th September at the San Manuel Amphitheater and Festival Grounds in San Bernardino, California.
The impressive bill boasts more than 40 acts so far including Slayer, Disturbed, Anthrax, Black Label Society, Megadeth and Opeth.
The event was launched at a press conference in Hollywood attended by Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon, Geezer Butler, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan and Zakk Wylde.
Ozzy Osbourne told the audience: "We are here to create havoc and history. Let the madness begin."
Corey Taylor enthused: “This could be the one of the coolest things I’ve ever been a part of. Starting out as an Ozzfest band, coming into our own with Knotfest and now combining forces to make a little metal history…it was meant to be and I’m proud to be a part of it.”
While Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan added: "Playing with Black Sabbath is always an honour. Merging both festivals will be a legendary experience that will be life-changing for all fans. We are excited to bring all the families together again."
