Bill Wyman diagnosed with prostate cancer

A spokesperson for the 79-year-old rocker said that fortunately the cancer was diagnosed early on and he’s hoping to make a full recovery.

Wyman last appeared in public over the weekend at the wedding of media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Mick Jagger’s ex partner Jerry Hall in London (pictured below).

The short statement reads: "Bill Wyman, former member of The Rolling Stones, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer." 

"He is undergoing treatment and is expected to make a full recovery as it was caught in the early stages."

Wyman’s wife Suzanne and four children also asked for privacy during his treatment.

Several years older than his band mates, Wyman joined The Rolling Stones in late 1962 replacing Dick Taylor who went on to form The Pretty Things.

Two decades after leaving the group, Wyman reunited with the band their 50th anniversary shows at the O2 Arena in 2012.
