Bank of Dave 2's Rory Kinnear: 'I consider myself the sixth member of Def Leppard'
He's performed with them twice in the movies

Award-winning British actor Rory Kinnear has joked to Planet Rock that he’s the “sixth Leppard” after performing with Def Leppard twice in the two Bank of Dave movies.
Rory Kinnear appeared on My Secret Planet Rocks on Sunday night (26th January), and, unsurprisingly, one of his song choices was ‘Pour Some Sugar on Me’, which he sang with Def Leppard in the first Bank of Dave film two years ago.
Available to watch on Netflix now, Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger sees Kinnear reprise his role as Dave Fishwick, the real-life self-made millionaire from Burnley who hit headlines when he set up his own ethical bank in 2008 following the financial crisis.
In Bank of Dave 2, Rory Kinnear (as Dave) takes on the might of payday loan companies, and all five members of Def Leppard once again make major cameos.
When My Secret Planet Rocks host Mark Jeeves quipped that he was a member of Def Leppard, Rory Kinnear replied: “Well, in two different stints, yes. They were lucky to have me back for the second film.
“They very, very, very joyously joined on for the first film. There was a scenario (in 2023’s Bank of Dave) in which we had to raise a certain amount of money with a fundraising concert and Def Leppard turned up, and I got to sing ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’ with them.
“They were so pleased with how the film went and so thrilled to have been part of it and the reaction that it got, that they were desperate to come back for the second stint. So, I got to sing ‘Stand by Me’ with the band (this) time.
“And yes, I like to consider myself the extra missing member of Def Leppard... The sixth Leppard.”

Mark Jeeves went on to remark that Kinnear’s performance had great gusto, to which he responded: “You have to. I mean, you have to give it energy. I'm actually at heart reasonably shy, so I having to step on stage with Def Leppard and sing one of their iconic tunes, I did have to leave most of myself behind.
“Luckily, (the real) Dave is such an irrepressible ball of energy that I entirely relied on his spirits to get me through it.”
