Axl Rose 'lined up to replace Brian Johnson in AC/DC'

Guns N' Roses frontman is the latest named to front the Aussie rockers.

After Johnson was ordered by doctors to quit touring or risk going deaf earlier this month, the band postponed their US dates and confirmed the rearranged dates will “likely feature a guest vocalist.”

AC/DC’s original singer Dave Evans, The Hives frontman Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist and Krokus’ Marc Storace have all thrown their hats into the ring, however, none of these would quite divide opinion like Axl Rose.

Notoriously allergic to turning up to shows on time, Rose is apparently being lined up for AC/DC’s ten US dates – if Atlanta Radio 100.5 DJ Jason Bailey is to be believed.

Quoting “a very very good source”, Bailey said: "This is what I’m being told, Axl was meeting with the AC/DC group, because it’s all but a done deal that Axl will front AC/DC for the ten remaining shows. All ten, including Atlanta."

"From what I was told, this was all kind of new inside information to me, Angus (Young) is a very black and white guy. He’s like, Brian, for health reasons, can’t continue fronting the band."

“He was supposed to retire after the last tour, so they wanted to continue going out on the road and continue making music, so if you can’t do it, we appreciate your services, but the show must go on."

"They’re in town, they were auditioning people for the job, and then they flew Axl in, again, this is from my source."

If true, Axl will have a hectic schedule balancing the Guns N’ Roses reunion with Slash and Duff McKagan together with AC/DC’s shows.

Neither AC/DC nor Axl Rose have commented on the claims.
