Anthrax and five more for Steelhouse Festival 2021
They will bring the thrash to the Welsh mountain next year
Thrash metal legends Anthrax and Northern Irish rock bastions Therapy? lead the fresh wave of announcements for Steelhouse Festival 2021.
Anthrax will headline the Saturday night (24th July) at the Welsh rock extravaganza and drummer Charlie Benante says the band are looking forward to heading up the sun-kissed mountain next summer.
“We are all so excited to get back at what we do best - THRASH FOR ALL OUR FRIENDS! Can't wait to see you UK! Been too long,” Benante enthuses.
As part of their 30th anniversary celebrations, Therapy? will make their Steelhouse Festival debut next year and play an anthem-packed set including ‘Nowhere’, ‘Screamager’ and ‘Diane’.
Therapy’s Andy Cairns says: “Very excited to be coming to The Steelhouse Mountain. A wonderful gig in a country close to our hearts. It’ll be an honour to play with Anthrax, a legendary band who had a big impact on us when we first heard them. Rydym yn hapus!”
Completing today’s line-up announcement are Mason Hill, Howling Tides, Matt Mitchell & the Coldhearts and Empyre.
The newly confirmed bands join the previously announced Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons, Those Damn Crows, H.E.A.T, The Quireboys, Kris Barras Band, RavenEye, Florence Black, Collateral and Revival Black.
Steelhouse Festival promoters Mikey Evans and Max Rhead comment: “Having such a genre-defining band headline Steelhouse is huge – one of the Big Four no less. Anthrax helped propel the music we love into something heavier, faster and harder. Their place in the history of all things metal is assured…Next year they’ll make the trip up The Mountain… We couldn’t be more excited… ‘It’s a Steelhouse, or so they claim!’
“Of course, as is the way with Steelhouse, it’s always important for us to feature the best new bands out there. Mason Hill keep going from strength to strength, you can sense the momentum they have and we’re delighted to have them back alongside SH debutants: Empyre, The Howling Tides and Matt Mitchell & The Coldhearts …
"And finally we have Therapy? What more could you ask for from a special guest spot. It’s all about song power and they’re loaded with them. PLUS we’ve still got plenty to come!”
Taking place from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th July 2021, tickets to Steelhouse Festival are on sale right now, right here.
