'An Evening For Jack' concert to celebrate life and music of Jack Bruce
A very special concert has been announced to commemorate the extraordinary career of Cream legend Jack Bruce.
Titled ‘An Evening For Jack’, the charity event takes place on Tuesday 25th October, the second anniversary of Jack’s death, at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
The line-up is yet to be revealed, however organisers have promised special guest performances from some of the many artists Jack worked with throughout his
Jack’s son Malcolm Bruce and Jack/Cream collaborator Pete Brown are curating the evening.
Malcolm says: “This will be a celebration and a musical journey through my father's life.
“His musical interests were diverse, but through it all shines his personality, his individual approach to song writing and his trailblazing abilities as a bass player, singer and improviser.
“From his love of the blues, to music beyond categorisation, we will be celebrating his openness as a musical personality and the sheer joy he had with music in the moment.
“We will be taking a walk through the major aspects of Jack's career, from the early days touring with bands like the Graham Bond Organisation, through to Cream and beyond.”
Tickets priced at £40 to £60 and £100 for VIP (including meet and greet) go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 9am on Friday 9th September.
All proceeds raised will be donated to Nordoff Robbins and Jack’s favourite local charity, East Anglian Children’s Hospices.
